Join us for our quarterly Coffee + Case Studies event featuring two case studies from area companies and agencies. Open to members only, this is an intimate event (limited to 40 attendees – sign up early!) where you will have the chance to ask presenters questions and pick their brains about exactly how and why they did what they did. Limited to 40 attendees.

 

Case Study 1: Raising Belize tourism in an unexpected, interactive way

When the Belize Tourism Board wanted to announce direct flights from Toronto International, they initially planned a smattering of traditional out-of-home media around Canada’s first city. Our team at Olson challenged them to do something interactive, something newsworthy, something that captured the curious nature of Belize itself. With a lot of heavy lifting from all departments of the agency, we made something beautiful and funky: the world’s first Belizean-drum-activated-billboard.

 

Case Study 2: 3M’s Command Brand solution to combat the everyday nail problem

Command™ Brand is the leader in “damage-free” hanging with its line of adhesive strips/hooks for decorating/organizing without damage. Despite promising growth in a virtually unknown category, nails remain the go-to method for hanging and a deeply entrenched consumer behavior. To grow the brand, we needed to show people a better way to hang. The solution: tap one hammer who hates nails as much as we do – MC Hammer. With his proclamation to “Stop Hammer Time!” we spread our anti-nail message via a 360º campaign, and results were extraordinary: unprecedented double-digit sales growth, brand engagement and product demand that astounded retailers.

Brit Ryan
Art Director, OLSON

Brit has worked as an Art Director at Olson for 3 years creating campaigns for clients including Belize Tourism, Bissell Vacuums, Bauer Hockey, Minnesota Lottery, and Aurora Healthcare. Before Olson, Brit worked as a creative for Colle+McVoy here in Minneapolis and Mistress in Los Angeles. He’s a Minnesota native and graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a B.F.A in Graphic Design as well as attending Miami Ad School, Minneapolis.

 

Madeline Hasler
Account Executive, OLSON

Madeline joined Olson in August 2016 as an Account Executive working on the Belize Tourism Board and Commerce Bank accounts. Prior to joining Olson, Madeline worked as an Account Coordinator at Clarity Coverdale Fury and as a Business Analyst for Target Corporation. She originally is from Chicago and graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

 

Jessica Hack
Brand Communications Manager, 3M

For the past 2 years, Jessica has been on a mission to modernize the brands she is responsible for; starting with an elevated brand purpose and ending with a relevant creative expression. Prior to 3M, Jessica spent the majority of her career in the advertising world at Campbell Mithun.
